Traffic stranded as Gowaris pay homage to martyrs at memorial

Nagpur: Once again the negligence on the part of traffic department has come to fore with the traffic being stranded at various place because of the programme organised today to pay homage to the martyred Gowari at Gowari Memorial. The traffic department of police had the idea that a morcha was organised to Gowari memorial and the number of people participating in it but still it did not divert the traffic and stopped it at the last movement.

The traffic remained stranded from Sitabuldi to Ravinagar, Railway station to Kasturchand Park, Civil Lines, Sadar, Iron Bridge, for hours together. The police had put barricades at Samvidhan square and University road. The people stranded said that it took one full hour from Samvidhan to Sitabuldi. The vehicle remained lined up from Sitabuldi to Ravinagar.


On talking to Traffic department In-charge DCP Rajendra Singh Pardesi , he said, the morcha was big and besides a rally was also organised by Gowari Samaj people. There were people more than it was expected and so there was traffic jam. He also said that the metro work and cement road works are going on at various places. Due which problem arose. Besides people the police also faced problem in regularising the traffic.
