Nagpur News: Come the Deepawali vacations, come the planning in drawing rooms, or for that matter any common room. The kids, young boys and girls, and the parents, have started talking tours to different places of their kith and kin at one distant city or the other.
However, the drawing room planning is likely to receive a hit the day the planners would move to the doors of tour and travel agencies. There are most likely chances that the well-planned tours of hundreds of parents and other all and sundry would go haywire as the tour and travel agencies have jacked up the fares by three times the normal fares taking the advantage of heavy rush of Deepawali holidayers.
The ideal family of parents and two kids would be shelling out Rs 20,000 if they were to travel to Pune for double journey. A whopping 200-300 per cent.Pune was an example. The tour and travel agencies have put themselves in top gears and are happily waiting to rob or loot the Deepawali vacationers. The cheerful period for tour and travel agencies to reap a rich harvest during Deepawali season ranges from October last week to November last week. The exorbitant fare hike may force dozens of families abandon the plans and celebrate Deepawali in their houses and in Nagpur itself.
Several Government officials and employees from Mumbai, Pune, Nasik, Aurangabad and other distant cities, along with their families, have settled in Nagpur in accordance with their postings. But they all wait for Deepawali vacations and are anxious to meet their relatives, friends of their native places. However, now, they have been forced to think twice before making plans for travel. The double-treble fare hike has been playing spoil sport in their plans to visit to native places.

ST’S DEEPAWALI GIFT:
The MSRTC has decided to run 50 additional buses from Nagpur to Pune and Pune to Nagpur giving a jolt to private tour and travel agencies and curbing the looting of passengers by the private operators. The 50 buses would run from October 30 to November 7. The ST will charge Rs 967 per person for Nagpur-Pune and vice-versa in the semi luxury buses
