New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed the nation on the occasion of 71st Independence Day from the Red Fort in New Delhi after unfurling the tricolour and paid tributes to the freedom fighters. “I bow down to all those who have laid their lives for the freedom of India.” He also expressed confidence that together we can create a new India. He said, “Everybody is equal in our nation, no one big or small. We together can bring a positive change in the nation.”
Taking his address further, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the deaths of the children at Baba Raghav Das Medical College in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur. He also spoke about One Rank One Pension, Goods and Services Tax (GST), Kashmir issue, Quit India Movement and Surgical Strikes and Terrorism among many other issues.
