NEW DELHI: Defying state government orders, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat hoisted the tricolour at a school in Palakkad as part of the 71st Independence Day celebrations on Tuesday.
Bhagwat was restrained by the Palakkad district administration from hoisting the national flag at Karnakiamman Higher Secondary School on Tuesday.

Palakkad district collector issued a directive in this regard and said it would be inappropriate for political leaders to hoist the national flag at schools as only school authorities and elected representatives are allowed for the same.
