Nagpur: A young farmer was attacked and mauled to death by a tiger in a farm at village Amgaon in Seloo Tehsil of Wardha District on Sunday evening. The deceased has been identified as Chetan Dadarao Khobragade (22), resident of same village. Body of Chetan was found by the villagers, sources said.

On Sunday evening, Chetan was working at his farm situated in village Amgaon. The killer tiger, who was hiding behind wild bushes in ambush, suddenly attacked Chetan and mauled him fatally. The seriously injured Chetan died on the spot. Some villagers, passing through the spot, found body of Chetan lying in his farm and informed Seloo police. A team of police reached the spot and started investigations.

However, the villagers, enraged by not a single forest official reaching the spot even after considerable time, resisted the cops to send body of Chetan for post-mortem unless forest men arrive at the spot. The stance of villagers led to tension in the village. However, the police pacified the villagers who staged a protest against the incident. There is fear and anger among the people.
