Seat-belt proves the savior in this road mishap
Nagpur: The youth seem to be enamoured by the stunts and fancy driving depicted in movies. They often try a similar stunt on city roads too often resulting in road mishaps.
In a similar incident which occurred on the flyover, over Chhatrapati Square, the driver of one Chevrolet Tavera while attempting to overtake another car had rammed into a Tata Indica car in a head-on collision on May 13, 2015 at around 1:30 pm. However, no fatalities were reported in the mishap.
According to Traffic Police, who arrived on the spot immediately and controlled the traffic jam, the un-identified driver of Chevrolet Tavera bearing RTO registration number MH-04/ DN 9463 was attempting to overtake some other four-wheeler colluded with a Tata Indica car bearing RTO registration number MH-34/ K-5869 driven by the victim identified as Pankaj Subhash Deshpande aged 35 years and a resident of Rahate Colony as they were returning back to their home and were headed in the direction of Rahate Colony.
The police officials at the spot claimed the victim incurred slight head injuries and scratches on his limbs. The 5 year-old son who was seated at the left hand of the driver escaped from any serious injuries since he had his seat-belt on. In-fact even the victim Pankaj Deshpande too escaped major injuries since he had his seat belt on.
The father of Pankaj Deshpande escaped with a few aberrations and scratches on his limbs.
Police Sub-Inspector Sneha Lande of Dhantoli Police Station arrived at the spot and was still performing the formalities at the time of filing the story.
