Young man mugged at knife-point: Cash looted from him

Nagpur: A young man who is eking out a living by selling Airtel recharge vouchers and sim-cards was mugged by a gang of 6 young men and cash and vouchers worth Rs 14,345 was stolen from him.

The incident which occurred on May 12, 2015 at around 2:20 pm, when the victim identified as Ashish Nagorao Kene aged 24 years and a resident of Plot No 100, Kharbi Geeta Mata Nagar was going home with Rs 6950 in cash received from the sale of sim-cards and some Airtel vouchers totaling worth Rs 14, 345/-.

When he neared the spot which was hit opposite to Geeta Nursing Home on the road between Watoda Pandan Road and Shri Krishna Nagar Road, the accused identified as Sadam and five other co-accused who were on three motorcycles blocked his way and snatched the hand bag containing cash and vouchers at knife-point and sped away.

Based on the complaint lodged by the victim Ashish, Police Sub Inspector Mahendra Singh Thakur of Nandanwan Police Station registered a case under Section 395 of Indian Penal Code against the accused and is investigating further.
