Nagpur News: Despite the police having become more vigilant for the winter session, the incidents of chain snatching continue unabated in the city. On Saturday evening, city police reported three chain snatching incidents in four hours. Alka Sadavarte, a resident of Rajura in Chandrapur, was driving her scooter through Dhanteshwar slum road in Dhantoli when two youths on motorbike snatched her gold chain worth Rs 75,000. Sadavarte has filed a complaint with Dhantoli police station.
In another incident, Gittikhadan lay-out resident Kumud Bhende was purchasing vegetables from the market at Rana Pratap Nagar square when two bike-borne youths made away with Rs 12,000. Later, Bhende reported the matter to Rana Pratap Nagar police station.
Richa Gupta, a resident of Jalaram Nagar in Kalamna was heading on her moped to drop her daughter at tuition classes when again two youths on bike snatched her gold chain worth Rs 24,000. Lakadganj police registered a case.
