Theft of Rs. 8 lakh from a Car in Sadar,Nagpur

Nagpur News: A bag containing Rs. 8 lakh was stolen from a Wagon R (MH 31 CP 2826) parked near Sadar Bus Stop, under the jurisdiction of Sadar Police station.

The car and the money belong to Mr. Sharad Jijani, a paper mill owner. Mr. Jijani had withdrawn the money from a branch of UCO Bank situated on Wardha Road. He then came to Sadar for an appointment, and left the bag of money in the care of Umesh Jasutkar, his driver.

As Umesh was waiting for Mr. Jijani to return, a stranger came up to him and told him that he had dropped some money. A number of Rs. 10 notes were scattered on the ground. Umesh bent and picked up the money, only to notice that the bag containing Rs. 8 lakh was missing.
He called up Mr. Jijani, informing him of the theft. The duo then drove to Sadar Police Station and filed a complaint. Police Inspector Rajratan Bansode reached the scene of crime with his staff. Investigations, including a study of the CCTV footage from UCO Bank, are underway.
