Nagpur News: Dr Ram Thakur of Lokmat Samachar has been elected as the president of the Sports Journalists Association of Nagpur (SJAN) at the annual general meeting held on Sunday at Maharajbagh Club.
Kishor Bagde of Marathi daily Lokmat was retained as the secretary of the association. The Times of India’s Suhas Nayse was elected as the treasurer.Sandeep Dabhekar of the same newspaper was elected as the vice-president while Sarang Kunte (The Hitavada) secured the joint secretary’s post.

The executive members include Nilesh Deshpande (Lokmat Times), Narendra Chore (Sakal)), Amit Ramteke (Lokshahi Varta) and Sujan Masid (Dainik Bhaskar).
The entire body was elected unopposed for a three-year term (2013-2016). Advocate DS Karunashankar was the election officer and declared the new executive body of the association.
