‘Thagi’ of Rs 23,000 in the name of providing job

Nagpur: A case of ‘Thagi’ against two accused persons under the jurisdiction of Sitabuldi police station has been registered on the complaint filed by a young girl. The accused are named as Ajay Chavan and Shabana Siddiqi.

According to police, the complainant Payal Sunil Gupta, aged 22, lived as a tenant in the house of Radheshyam Gupta, in Bhajimandi Chowk, Sitabuldi. She happened to upload her bio-data for job on shaheen.com on July 2. Upon this, accused Ajay Chavan and Shabana Siddiqi called Payal on phone and told her that they were speaking form shaheen.com, and they demanded from her Rs 2,247 as registration fee for job. Payal online deposited the said amount of money from her cousin Shikha Manoj Gupta’s online account. Meanwhile without causing any delay, the accused tricksters happened to withdraw online Rs 23,000 from the bank account of Shikha Gupta. As the cheating was discovered by Shikha Gupta, Payal rushed to Sitabuldi police station and lodged a complaint against the accused tricksters. Police investigation in the case is further going on.
