Nagpur News: Following grave lapse (or deliberate negligence) by Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) in Nagpur, the trade of adulterated and very poor quality Soyabean cooking oil is flourishing like a dreaded disease. The most sensational and shocking part in the fishy deal is that the adulterated and very poor quality or one can say poisonous Soyabean cooking oil is that the oil is being sold under label of famous ‘Fortune’ company which also deals in cooking oil.

The trade in the poisonous oil is being carried out by big as well as small traders. It may be mentioned that recently Chhattisgarh police arrested a Nagpur trader when the trader ordered big quantity of the oil from a Rajnandgaon-based businessman Sattar Bhai. The oil was seized and the trader was arrested. On his information the Nagpur trader was also arrested and taken to Rajnanandgaon.

The most disturbing fact is many big fishes are involved in this “dirty” trade. The business of a  young trader flourishing on this oil. A woman was caught by a trader when she was taking the Fortune labeled oil tin from this young trader. However it came to know that the young trader is not authorized distributor of Fortune oil. Many tins of adulterated soyabean oil from Chhattisgarh have reached Nagpur but due to absence of any action by FDA the oil has created potential hazard for consumers. It is not enough to arrest only one trader.
