Teenager meets watery grave in Ambazari

Nagpur News: A 16-year-old boy met with watery grave on Tuesday when he drowned in Ambazari Lake. The boy had gone for swimming with his friend.

The teenager has been identified as Gaurav Kavduji Shahastrabuddhe (16), a resident of Takli Sim, Renuka Mata Layout, Hingna Road.

According to police, Gaurav, along with his friend, went for swimming in Ambazari Lake, near Jaltaran Housing Society, behind Aangan Wine Bar. While swimming, Gaurav reportedly lost the stamina and subsequently faced difficulty in breathing. Since he was in deep waters, Gaurav struggled to come back to shores. The more he struggled the more he lost the strength. Ultimately, water overpowered Gaurav and he drowned. His friend shouted for help but could not save Gaurav. The friend immediately searched for help and informed passersby about the incident. Some people rushed to the spot to render help but it was too late. Ambazari police, who were informed about the tragedy, rushed to the spot. They fished out Gaurav’s body and after preliminary enquiry, sent it to Government Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem.
