Nagpur News : A middle-aged woman was relieved of her mangalsutra worth Rs 65,000 from Ajni area on Tuesday. The chain-snatching took place at the road between Omkar Nagar Square and Manewada Ring Road.
According to information, the complainant Maya Santoshrao Thaokar (48), a resident of Savitri Nagar, Hudkeshwar, was riding pillion with her husband on his Hero Puc (MH 31 7805) on Tuesday night. The couple were returning after attending a ‘Haldi’ function when two unidentified thieves came from rear and snatched away the mangalsutra worn by Maya. Before she could raise an alarm, the thieves sped away.
Maya, in her statement to Ajni police, informed that the mangalsutra was worth Rs 65,000. Cops have registered an offence under Sections 392 and 34 of the IPC against the thieves.
