Suspicious wife, 3 others abduct 50-year old woman, detain her the whole night; booked

Nagpur: In a bizarre development, a suspicious wife and her three accomplices abducted a 50-year old woman, detained her in a room the whole night and thrashed severely. The reason for the awful act was: The woman phoned her husband frequently and demanded the loaned money. Not aware of her husband owed money, the frequent phone calls aroused suspicion and the woman and her accomplices resorted to the abduction and detention of the middle aged woman.

The victim, Vanashri Umesh Gurbhele (50), resident of House No. 94, Barakholi, had loaned money to Vijay Meshram, husband of Sangita Meshram. The non-payment of loaned money forced Vanashri to frequently call Vijay and demand money. The frequent phone calls of Vanashri to her husband aroused suspicion in the mind of accused Sangita Meshram and she decided to teach the middle aged woman a lesson. The accused Sangita Meshram, with the help of Puja Meshram and two other persons in the age group of 20-25 years, all residents of Bhandar Mohalla, accosted Vanashri near Ambedkar Park, Hudco Colony, around 6 pm on April 4 and forced her to seat in an auto. The four accused took Vanashri to Sangita Meshram’s house and detained her in a room the whole night and thrashed her. Vanashri was released at about 11 am on April 5. The shell shocked Vanashri approached Jaripatka Police Station and lodged a complaint in this regard.

PSI Dongre registered an offence against accused Sangita Meshram, Puja Meshram and two other unidentified persons under Sections 363, 342, 323, 34 of IPC and probing the matter further.
