Sun Pharma staff stages protest inside Pride Hotel for pending salary!

Protest-2Nagpur: A group of employees of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited has resorted to protest against the management inside Hotel Pride, where the meeting of company’s divisional heads and management was underway since Saturday morning.

Talking to Nagpur Today, President of Maharashtra Sales and Medical Representatives Association Vishal Joshi said that the Sun Pharma is not what it claims to be. He said that employees of Sun Pharma are justified in staging a protest. He alleged that the management of the company has illegally transferred 54 employees to another zone without prior intimation. The management has withheld the Salary and Expenses of 55 employees (all over India) for the last 9 months.

The disgruntled employees had filed a case in Industrial Court. However when the case came up for hearing in Mumbai High Court, the honourable Judge had directed the Industrial Court to come up with a solution within 6 months. The High Court had also directed the Company to cancel the transfer orders with immediate effect and to reinstate all the 55 employees in the original positions in the headquarters.

ProtestSurprisingly, the salary and expenses of 150 employees of one division has been withheld for last 6 months. President of Maharashtra Sales and Medical Representatives Association Vishal Joshi further made serious allegations.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited (an Indian Multinational Pharmaceutical Company) headquartered in Mumbai that manufactures and sells pharmaceutical formulations and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) primarily in India and the United States.

It also provides APIs such as warfarin, carbamazepine, etodolac, and clorazepate, as well as anticancers, steroids, peptides, sex hormones, and controlled substances. Sun Pharmaceuticals was established by Dilip Shanghvi in 1983 in Vapi with five products to treat psychiatry ailments. The 2014 acquisition of Ranbaxy will make the company the largest pharma company in India, the largest Indian Pharma company in the US, and the 5th largest speciality generic company globally.
