Nagpur: While atrocities on women in the state are being committed, the state government and the home department is functioning like dumb and deaf, said president of Nationalist Congress Party Women’s Organization Wing, Chitra Wagh, talking to the media persons, here in the city on Sept 7.
She is on a four-day tour of Vidarbha, which was started from this city. Expressing her concern over the plight of women in the state, she demanded from the state government quick disposal of cases pertaining to women.
Targeting Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, she said, while atrocities on women are on the rise and the state is hit by serious drought, the CM is busy in foreign tours. Chitra Wagh said that her tour is aimed at study of the plight of women and strengthening of woman-units of NCP in the region. After her tour, NCP Women’s Wing national president Fouzia Khan will tour Vidarbha, she informed.
