Nagpur: The Social Security Branch (SSB) of the Nagpur Crime Branch uncovered a sex racket operating at The Wella Unisex Spalon & Academy on Borgaon Road, Gittikhadan, this Friday.
A couple, Anushul Manoj Bawangade (30) and his wife Seema, residents of Buddha Nagar, Pachpaoli, have been arrested in connection with the case.
According to police sources, SSB Senior Police Inspector Kavita Isarkar received reliable information about a sex racket being run under the guise of The Wella Unisex Spalon & Academy. After verifying the information, officers raided the establishment and discovered the illicit activities.
The investigation revealed that the accused couple lured unsuspecting women into the flesh trade in exchange for money and provided a safe haven for these activities. The police have seized goods worth Rs 1.92 lakh from the premises.
Charges under Sections 4 and 57 of the PETA Act have been filed against the couple. Further investigation is ongoing.
Under the guidance of the Commissioner of Police, Additional CP (Crime), and DCP (Crime), the SSB team, including PI Kavita Isarkar, Police Constables Sachin Badiye, Prakash Mathankar, Laxman Chaware, Police Amaldar Ajay Paunikar, Kamlesh Kshirsagar, Kunal Masram, and others, conducted the raid and made the arrests.
