Nagpur: In a puzzling incident that questions the very existence of life after death and nudges all to think about the alleged persistent souls around us, a 19 year old student of Priyadarshini Bagwati College of Engineering ended his life because he was allegedly summoned by a soul of a boy whom he saw dying in an accident a month ago.
The suicide note recovered from the pocket of deceased Saurabh Nagpurkar revealed that he was being called by the dead boy whose death he witnessed. Saurabh ended his life by hanging himself with his sister’s scarf from the ceiling fan in his room. His father Yeshwant, an NCC employee and his mother Aishwarya were reportedly in deep shock over the incident and remained inconsolable.
Saurabh had been repeatedly discussing about the accident he witnessed on Umrer road and kept telling his friends and family about how the soul of this boy, who died in front of him, haunted him and constantly called upon him.
Pyschiatrists however described the extreme step as the result of psychosis which results in such hallucinations. However this can be cured through medicines and counselling.
Saurabh was reportedly too empathetic and always look forward to help homeless people. He recently celebrated his birthday at an orphanage.
