Nagpur: The speeding trucks have turned deadly monsters on city roads as they keep on driving rashly without any check. The rashly driven truck has claimed yet another life in a mishap on Monday morning when a 12-year-old boy was crushed under its wheels at Umred. Police have seized the truck (MH-34-AV-2359) while the driver fled the spot and still out of trace.
Cops said Pranav Sanjay Thuse, a student of Std V, was on his way to school on his bicycle when the incident happened. Pranav was riding the bicycle while the truck was reversing when it ran over the minor. Cops said the driver could not see Pranav as he was behind the truck, and the boy might not have noticed that the truck was reversing, leading to the accident.
Soon after the accident, public ran to help Pranav while the truck driver fled the spot fearing the anger of the crowd. Umred police too rushed to the spot in minutes and took Pranav to a nearby hospital, where doctors announced him brought dead.
For a brief period, traffic at the spot was stopped but cops managed to clear the road soon. Police have registered a case of rash driving and death due to negligence against the accused driver.
