Nagpur News : An unidentified autorickshaw driver hit a motorcyclist on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday and resulted in the death of the motorcyclist. Shakkardra police have booked the auto-rickshaw driver in this regard and search for the same is under way.
According to police information, the deceased Virendra Rajendra Mahapatra (30), a resident of New Amar Nagar, Shivamvila Apartment, Plot No 137, was riding his CBZ bike (MH 31 CB 9427) when a speeding and uncontrolled autorickshaw dashed into his bike.
Fearing arrest, the autorickshaw driver sped away from the spot leaving Virendra in a pool of blood. Nearby commuters rushed Virendra to Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment and informed Sakkardara police about the accident. After preliminary check-up, doctors declared him dead.
Police have registered an offence against the unknown autorickshaw driver under Sections 279, 338, 304 (a) read with sub sections 134 and 177 of MPA.
