Special drive to enrol new voters in July

Nagpur: The District Administration, as per the directives of the Election Commission of India will undertake a special drive between July 1 and July 31 to enrol new voters, specially the youngsters.

The booth-level officers will visit households on July 8 and July 22 and enrol eligible youngsters in the age-group of 18-21 years. During the special drive, the officers will also accept applications for deletion of names of deceased voters from the electoral rolls. District Collector Sachin Kurve has urged the youngsters and those citizens who have not enrolled so far to register themselves as voters during the drive.

The applications will be accepted at electoral registration office. Apart from the special drive, two camps will be organised in coordination with voter assistance centres, and campus ambassadors in colleges in respective areas of various State Legislative Assembly segments. During these camps, Form No 6 for new enrolment will be accepted from students. After collecting the relevant information, the applications will be uploaded on ERONet by August 31. For those having any complaint regarding electoral rolls, they may do so through e-mail or by post on every Thursday.
