‘Smart job’: 2 CCTV cameras installed at Anant Nagar Square stolen!

: Two CCTV cameras installed at Anant Nagar Square as part of Smart City Project were stolen by unidentified miscreant(s) between May 21 and June 5, 2017. Worth of the stolen CCTV cameras has been quoted as Rs 60,000. Surprisingly, the concerned authorities did not notice theft of the cameras till June 7.

The two CCTV cameras were installed at Anant Nagar Square in tune with the Smart City Project. Nagpur is being developed as Smart City. Beginning with, CCTV cameras have been installed at many vantage squares across the city to monitor traffic flow as well as criminal activities. But the ruffians targeted the source itself. Whether the stolen CCTV cameras captured the burglar(s) is the pertinent question? Whether the authorities have tools to recover the faces of the miscreants or the stolen cameras themselves is another question!

Gittikhadan PSI Madankar has registered a case under Section 379 of the IPC against the unidentified criminals and launched a search to trace the CCTV cameras.
