SNDL’s “Feeder bifurcation project (3)Nagpur: As a part of SNDL’s ongoing “Feeder bifurcation project”, SNDL Nagpur has successfully charged 2 newly installed feeders at Mangaldeep Nagar & Sujata Nagar on December 15 and 16, 2015. SNDL’s O&M team achieved this success in a short span of just 12 days, thereby bifurcating the existing load upon Shahu Nagar feeder and Lashkaribagh & Vaishali Nagar feeders.

Approximately 16000 consumers of Mangaldeep Nagar, Shahu Nagar, Lashkaribagh, Vaishali Nagar and adjacent colonies under Manewada & Lashkaribagh zones of the DF Area are expected to be benefitted through this bifurcation. This complete project, pegged at Rs. 7.5 crore is being undertaken with the intention of providing yet more reliable and qualitative power supply to the upcoming locations within Nagpur DF area.

SNDL’s “Feeder bifurcation project (2)Feeder Bifurcation Project:
‘Feeders’ are the main lines of supply which exit from a sub-station and in turn supply to the transformers installed across various locations in the city. As the city is experiencing large-scale growth in residential and commercial sectors, there is a growing demand for regularized power supply. This growing demand gradually increases the load on ‘feeders’ which act as incomer to a transformer.

SNDL’s “Feeder bifurcation project (1)This in turn passes on the load to the localized transformer and becomes responsible for any disruption in supply. “Feeder Bifurcation” is a gigantic task of further distribution (or bifurcation) of existing load on high-load feeders to additional new feeders thereby ensuring two major aspects i.e. (1) High reliability of network in today’s scenario and (2) Making provision for future load growth.
