Slum dweller killed in drunken fight in Nandanvan

Nagpur News: In another addition to rising crime in the city, a twenty five year old was stabbed to death in revenge by three drunken neighbours in Nandanvan slum last night.

Victim Amit Rajendra Shende, 25, a resident of Mitra Vihar Nagar, Nadanvan slums was attacked by accused Rakesh Antaram Nagdive (24), Saurabh alias Golu Dande (22) and Ashwin alias Monu Rekharam Sonkuwar, all residents of Gali No. 3 of Nandanvan slums.

The three were drunk, and stabbed Amit two or three times with a knife, and also beat him up by hand. Amit managed to escape and run home, where he called up the police and asked for help. Nadanvan Police reached his residence and took him to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), taking down his statement.

According to Nandanvan Police Inspector Sunil Jaiswal, a case was initially registered under Sections 34, 425 and 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC. However, when Amit succumbed to his injuries and passed away at GMCH this morning, the case was changed to section 302 (murder).

Nadanvan police is in search of the three accused.
