NAGPUR: Denying any possibility of an alliance between Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during the next Lok Sabha and State Assembly polls, Shiv Sena’s Vidarbha Sampark Pramukh Gajanan Kirtikar announced that his party would field a candidate against Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in Nagpur.

Kirtikar was addressing a convention of party workers in Nagpur on Thursday. He said that it was now clear that there would be no alliance between the two parties in forthcoming elections.

And Shiv Sena would prove its strength in Vidarbha by going alone in the polls, he claimed and added that Shiv Sena would leave no stone unturned in strengthening the party in Vidarbha and would field candidates in all four Lok Sabha seats in Nagpur division including Wardha, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli and Ramtek.

A few months back, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray had organized a meeting in Nagpur and had exhorted his party members from Vidarbha to start preparations for going alone in the upcoming polls.

Though, BJP chief Amit Shah had expressed confidence that the two parties will form an alliance.
