Seven storeyed Metro rail office in Ramdaspeth to be ready in 15 months

Nagpur: The work of the administrative building of the Nagpur Metro Railways is underway at Ramdaspeth, Central Bazar Road, Lendra. According to sources, the work of the building is expected to be over in 15 months.

The building is being constructed on a plot of 6,359.84 square meters. NIT had opened tenders and outsourced the work to a contractor. The building is expected to cost 23 crore. Since the Metro project is crucial keeping in mind the growing traffic problem in the city, the NIT aims to fastrack the completion of the building in 15 months.

The seven-storeyed building will include one basement and six administrative floors and will be equipped with all amenities. The building will be surrounded by landscaping and trees on all sides.

All works related to Nagpur Metro will be undertaken from the said office. The State government approved the ambitious Metro project on January 30, 2014 and the Central government on August 21, 2014. The entire Metro project is estimated to cost 8,680 crore and is expected to be operational by 2018.
