Secretary, 3 ex-HMs of school pilfer mid-day meal rice worth Rs 1.22 lakh

Nagpur: A Secretary and three former Headmasters of a school shamelessly devoured huge quantity of rice meant for Mid-Day Meal to the students by indulging in fraudulent acts. The accused not only deprived the students of their rightful meal but also defrauded the Government to the tune of Rs 1.22 lakh. An attendant of the school was also involved in the pilfering of rice. All the five accused have been booked.

The accused Secretary of Nagsen Shikshan Sanstha, Bezonbagh, Rupak Eknath Jambhulkar (63), resident of Bhonsalewadi, Lashkaribagh, the former Headmasters Anil Charandas Tembhurne of Friends Colony, Laxmi N Dongre of Raghuji Nagar, Sumed Fulzele of Somalwada and the attendant Roshan Bagde of Samata Nagar pilfered over 71 quintals of rice meant for distribution of ‘Khichdi’ to the students as mid-day meal. The value of the misappropriated rice is Rs 1,22,284. However, when the nasty act of the accused came to light, the accused showed their readiness to pay the cost of the pilfered rice but have not paid the amount till to date.

Jaripatka API Hanvate has registered a case against the accused under Sections 406, 409, 420, 34 of the IPC and investigating the matter further.
