Nagpur: Under the RTE, the state government had sanctioned Rs 11 crore 92 lakh only about one and a half months back for Nagpur district. But the English Medium School Directors who have given the Admission under RTE have not been given the funds till date. Officials of MESTA (Maharashtra English School Trustees Association) also gave a memorandum to the District Council’s CEO and the education officer. But only the assurance was given to them. Two days prior to the District Council’s Primary Education Officer Dipender Lokhande, was informed that 429 schools will be funded in two days. But even after two days no school has been able to get the funds.
MESTA has expressed displeasure over not getting funds. District Secretary Kapil Umale said that the education department has to give funds for 2016, 2017 and 2018 to administration. But that too they are not giving. On behalf of MESTA, he has warned the Education Department that if within 7 days the schools do not funds under RTE, then they would gherao education department will be launch their agitation.
