Nagpur: In a major reshuffle, the State Government appointed Sanjay Meena as the new Commissioner of Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) on Tuesday. He would take over the charge from Manoj Kumar Suryavanshi, who was holding the additional charge along with Chairmanship of Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT).
Meena, who was Gadchiroli collector, will take charge with immediate effect.
Chief Executive Officer of Nagpur Smart and Sustainable City Development Corporation Limited (NSSCDCL) Prithviraj BP has been moved to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) in the capacity of Additional Municipal Commissioner.
Two Deputy Municipal Commissioners from Nagpur Municipal Corporation, Nirbhay Jain and Ravindra Bhelawe, too, have been transferred in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections in the same capacity.
The transfers were necessitated as most of the officers had completed a three-year stint at one place and in view of directives of Election Commission, they were to be transferred to new places that led to the entire exercise.
Particularly worrisome for NMC is that one post of Additional Commissioner was already vacant following transfer of Sunil Lahane and now two more Deputy Municipal Commissioners have also been shifted.
