Rutuja clinches gold in first National Ocean Swimming in Malvan

Nagpur: Promising city swimmer Rutuja Talegaonkar excelled in first National Ocean Swimming Competition organized by Sindhudurg District Swimming Association by winning a gold medal in 5 km long ocean swimming off Nivati seashore near Malvan.

Out of 600 participants from all around the country, Rutuja bagged gold medal in under-19 female category by covering 5km distance in just 31min.

Rutuja was rewarded with 5,000 cash and a trophy on this occasion. She is student of Ambedkar College.

Recently, Himani Fadke also won two silver medals in CBSCs National Swimming Competition at Delhi Public School, Rachi.

The event was organized by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Government of India.

Himani covered 200meter distance in 2.40min and 800meter in 10.9min to win two silver medals.

Himani trains under the able guidance of Shark Aquatic Sporting Assiciation, Ambazari coach Sanjay Batve. She is class X student of Sanjuba School.
