Nagpur: Amid strong opposition from college administrations, Vice-Chancellor of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) Dr Siddharth Vinayak Kane has constituted a committee to look into the possibility of implementing 50:50 formula in university examinations. The committee has been asked to submit its report in two weeks.

Dr Kane had proposed to conduct all the university examinations with the new 50:50 formula, which has been strongly opposed by University-accredited colleges in the city since last couple of years.

Recently, Dr Babanrao Taywade, president of RTMNU Principals’ Forum, had led a delegation to the Vice-Chancellor to register their protest to the formula. Dr Kane had reportedly assured to the delegation that the proposed formula would be cancelled.

However, notwithstanding the protest lodged by college administrations, Dr Kane has now constituted a committee to study the possibility of implementing the formula in the University-accredited colleges.

When contacted, Dr Kane said that the final decision in this regard would be taken after receiving the committee’s report.
