Nagpur: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and its outfits have given a ‘war cry’ against the government over Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Earlier, demands were being raised through mass movements but now efforts are being made to exert pressure directly on the government. The Modi Government, on the pretext of matter being pending in Supreme Court, refused to bring an ordinance to facilitate construction Ram Mandir as demanded by the Sangh. Upset with this, RSS is now contemplating religious demand pressure and the beginning of this pressure tactics would be given shape at the oncoming Kumbh Mela to be held at Prayagraj. Even though the RSS chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat attended the Kumbh Mela previously, but it will be the first time that he will be taking part in Dharma Sansad meeting being held during Kumbh Mela.
The Dharma Sansad is organised by RSS outfit Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). The RSS chief always attended this Dharma Sansad. But it will be for the first time that the RSS chief would be himself attending a different Dharma Sansad organised during Kumbh Mela. According to sources, Dr Bhagwat is scheduled to attend the Dharma Sansad on January 31 and February 1. He is likely to discuss several important issues including Ram Mandir issue with a host of Dharmacharyas.
The RSS chief has already declared that mass movements would have to be launched for Ram Mandir. The mass movements have to be led by sadhus and sants themselves. On his Vijaya Dashmi address, Dr Bhagwat had given a clear message to the government but no action was initiated by the government till today. At present, the RSS demand on Ram Mandir seems not being fulfilled. Recently, during a programme of an educational institution, the RSS chief had castigated the government over enormous delay in formulating new education policy. He had also clearly said that if people exert pressure on government then it will be forced to formulate policies in accordance with the wishes of the people.
In an interview with news agency ANI, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had cleared the position of his government regarding Ram Mandir. Reacting to the Modi’s remark, the RSS Sarkaryavah Bhaiyyaji Joshi had reminded Modi of BJP’s poll promise of building the temple. The RSS chief, when asked by media persons his reaction on Modi’s statement, had also echoed the sentiments expressed by Bhaiyyaji Joshi. “What Bhaiyyaji Joshi had said was the final position of RSS,” Dr Bhagwat had said.
