Nagpur: Unidentified people stole Rs 3 lakh from the seat dickey of a moped belonging to a senior citizen in Mangalwari Market under Sadar Police Station on Tuesday evening.
Interestingly, the incident occurred within 15 minutes after the complainant Baliram Kanahyalaal Mamtani (62), a resident of Vaibhav Nagar, Flat No. 210, Ring Road had parked his Activa (MH/31/CJ/4479) to purchase some vegetables from Mangalwari Market.
According to police sources, Mamtani had parked his moped near a vegetable shop and busy with purchage when some unidentified thieves broke open the dickey of the moped and fled with Rs 3 lakh cash kept in it.
The robbery came to fore as soon as Mamtani turned towards his moped and found broken dickey and missing cash. He subsequently, rushed to Sadar Police Station and filed a complaint.
Based on the complaint lodged, Sadar Police have registered a case under Sections 379 of the IPC. Cops have examining CCTVs and launched a probe into the matter.
