Mankapur cops unearth 17 cases of motorcycle theft, two from Mominpura arrested

Nagpur: In a major breakthrough against the increasing incidents of two-wheeler theft, Mankapur Police arrested two men involved in 17 such cases. Besides, arresting accused identified as Mohammad Atiq Mohammad Khaiq (37) and Mohammad Arsalaan Mohammad Farooq (20), both residents of Mominpura; cops have recovered 16 motorcycles and an engine of a bike to the tune of Rs 4,32,700 form the possession of accused.

Cops made breakthrough following the compliant of Vijay Govindrao Kale (30), a resident of Zingabai Takli (originally from Saoner), whose bike was stolen from Alexis Hospital. During the scanning of CCTV footage, Mankapur police found two men driving the bike away. Following which cops launched the manhunt of the accused and succeeded in nabbing them.

Cops have booked accused Arsalaan and Atiq under Sections 394of the IPC and placed them under arrest.

Mankapur Police comprising Senior Police Inspector (PI) Vaijanti Mandawdhare, Crime PI Rishikesh Ghadge, API Mangala Mokashe, PSIs Kailash Magar, Chetan Makade, Sunil Dagwaal, NPC Vijay Yadav, PC Praveen Bhoyar, PC Anup Yadav, PC Deepak Chauhan made the arrest.
