Rohan, Ritika clinch badminton crowns

Nagpur: City shuttlers Rohan Gurbani and Ritika Thaker clinched Under-15 boys singles and Under-15 girls doubles titles, respectively at the Maharashtra Sub-Junior Badminton State Championship 2015 in Parbhani.

Rohan Gurbani of Nagpur justified his top billing to reign supreme in the U-15 boys singles.

The 13-year-old registered a fluent 21-16, 21-16 victory over unseeded Prathamesh Halankar in a one-sided final. Rohan, a Standard VIII student of Centre Point School, displayed his extraordinary talent to dominate the 27-minute final against Pune’s Prathamesh.
Another Nagpur shuttler to impress was Ritika Thaker.

The pair of Ritika and Simran Singhi of Mumbai Suburban thumped third seeds Sanashree Dhamdhere and Tanishka Deshpande of Pune to clinch the U-15.
