Revaluation scam: lawyer approached for legal action

Nagpur News: As a last resort, students of Bachelor of Engineering (BE) of Nagpur University have together approached a city- based lawyer to file a petition and seek legal help in the revaluation scandal that has put future plans of thousands of students on hold.

With University examinations for the third semester students beginning from December 4th, students are getting anxious and losing hope of a solution from RTMNU itself. Around two hundred names have been given in for a petition to be filed by students of all batches together. A fixed amount is being contributed by each student towards legal expenditure. More contributions are expected to come in from students of colleges in Gondia, Chandrapur, Wardha and others who have been hit by lax university functioning.

University rules do not provide for a challenge to revaluation, and no definite answer has come from authorities despite State Cabinet Minister having visited the Vice- Chancellor and assured pressure and speedy resolution.  While University officials are still making vague statements about probe and action against the evaluators, the thousands of students who have failed for no fault of theirs are not being helped. Their only option now is to approach the High Court.
