NAGPUR: In a major relief for 106 passengers from Nagpur stranded in Nepal, arrangements have now been made for their safe return to India. Following intervention by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the passengers have begun their journey back and have reportedly left Kathmandu for Danapur in Bihar.

Following a telephonic conversation with Chief Minister Fadnavis, Nepal MP Sandeep Rana extended immediate assistance and arranged four mini-buses locally to facilitate the passengers’ travel from Kathmandu towards Janakpur. The development has helped clear the way for the stranded Nagpur residents to return safely.

Earlier, Chief Minister Fadnavis had also spoken directly with the Nagpur passengers stranded in Nepal and assured them of assistance.

The 106 passengers are expected to reach the Janakpur-Bihar border by tomorrow morning. From there, separate buses have been arranged to transport them to Danapur.

Once they reach Danapur, railway arrangements will be made for their onward journey to Nagpur.

The timely intervention by Chief Minister Fadnavis has provided much-needed relief to the Nagpur residents caught up in the difficult situation in Nepal. The arrangements have also brought considerable relief to the passengers’ families back home.
