Nagpur: A distorted face of social evils came to the fore in Nagpur on Monday. An elderly man in the profession as noble as scientist and that too from a premiere institute of Central India, indulged in sexual act with his three adopted minor daughters. This retired man has been unleashing her filthy desire for over a long period until the eldest daughter decided to raise voice against the unsaid exploitation.
Police has arrested 71 year-old Dr Maksood Hasan Ansari, a resident of Ajni Square locality. Dr Ansari retired in 2000. Sources informed that he married thrice but did not father any children from any of his wives. His last wife was a Nagpurian who divorced him 15 years ago and remarried in Amravati. During his third marriage, Ansari adopted three girls at different periods. The girls are now aged 6,11 and 16.
The eldest daughter was instrumental in bringing out the horrible ordeal she and her sisters were subjected to at home. Ansari forced himself on the 16 year-old in 2008. The girl was young then and did not understand what had happened with her. Ansari then raped her on several occasions. He did no stop there and even tried to molest the 6 and 11 year-olds.
The three young girls could not understand the behavior of their father. The eldest, a standard X student, started suspecting a foul play as she grew old. She told her ordeal to her friend, who in turn passed this information to her mother. The mother was shocked to her the story of rape and immediately contacted crime branch. The information was then passed to Dhantoli police. Ansari has been booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and arrested.
Dr Ansari has deigned himself innocent of any crime. A native of Uttar Pradesh, he settled in Nagpur and has been living at a rented home at Ajni Square since retirement. A highly educated person, Ansari holds M.Sc and a PhD. Police is currently trying to find the biological parents of the girls.
Study affected
The molestation has stained the tender mind of the young girls. They have fallen behind in studies. The girls are students of a prestigious school in Nagpur. The eldest is a Std X student, middle one is in class VI and the youngest is in class I. Since they have no known relatives in Nagpur, it is confirmed that they will be sent to children’s home.
