Refused money for liquor, man tries to kill wife in Nandanvan, arrested

Nagpur: A drunkard man tried to kill his wife by attacking her with iron rod and injuring her critically as she refused give him money for liquor. The incident took place in Nandanvan area here on Thursday night. The accused husband has been arrested. The injured woman has been admitted in GMCH.

The accused Brahmanand Sukhram Patle (42), resident of Plot No. 35 A, Kolhe Bandhu Society, Tarodi Bilgaon in Nandanvan police jurisdiction on Thursady around 7 pm demanded money from his wife Bhumeshwari (40) for consuming liquor.

However, as she refused to give money, the accused Brahmanand picked up quarrel and in a fit of anger attacked her with iron rod. The accused husband hit iron rod on Bhumeshwari’s face and head with the intention to kill her. A profusely bleeding Bhumeshwari was rushed to GMCH by nearby residents. Her condition is serious.

Nandanvan ASI Danade, based on a complaint lodged by Yogita Lalit Bopche (30) of Tarodi, booked the accused Brahmanand Patle under Sections 307, 504 of the IPC and arrested him. Further probe is underway.
