Press Accreditation Committees by Maha Govt

The Maharashtra government has reconstituted the Press Accreditation Committees recently, informed a press release. Accordingly, the president of Tilak Patrakar Bhavan Trust, Nagpur and associate editor of Hindustan Times, Pradipkumar Moitra and the president of Nagpur Union of Working Journalists (NUWJ) and associate editor of Lokmat Times, Brahmashankar Tripathi have been appointed as members of the State Press Accreditation Committee and Divisional Press Accreditation Committee, respectively. The appointments for a period of three years were made by the Maharashtra state government vide a notification, issued on Thursday, Aug 13, 2015.

Similarly, the resident editor of Hindi daily, Nav Bharat, Sanjay Tiwari and the city editor of Lokmat , Gajanan Janbhor have also been appointed as members of State Press Accreditation Committee and Divisional Press Accreditation Committee, respectively.

This is second time when Pradipkumar Moitra has been nominated for the member of State Press Accreditation Committee. He served as the member of the committee in 2000 while he was also one of the members of the Chhattisgarh State Press Accreditation Committee in 2003 during his stint in Raipur.

Moitra and Tripathi have thanked the office-bearers of NUWJ and TPB Trust and all their colleagues for their continued support and assured to vigorously take up issues pertaining to the accreditation of the journalists from Vidarbha and this part of the state and country.
