Nagpur: Raman Science Centre has organized in collaboration with Aeronautical Society of India an Orange City Science Fair from December 22, 2016 to December 24, 2016 for the students and teachers. Students of High School are participating in this fair along with their own made Science Models and demonstrate. 130 students of 54 schools are participating in the event.
20 teachers with their teaching Aids will also participate in the event. They will also be present to demonstrate their own kits.
The Orange city Science fair will be inaugurated by Air Marshall RKS Shera AVSM VSM, Chairman, Aeronautical Society if India, Nagpur Branch at 11.00 am on December 22, 2016.
Apart from this various other programmes like “Meet the Scientist”, “Written Science Quiz”, “Open House Quest”, “Poster Making Contest”, “Science Demonstration Lectures” will also be organized.
Meet the Scientist Programme will be organized on December 22, 2016 at 11:30 am in which a panel of Scientists will available to satisfy the student queries on the topics International Year of Pulses. Former Vice Chancellor of Punjabrao Deshmukh Agriculture University Dr. Sharad Nimbalkar and renowned Scientist Dr. Ramesh Thakre will be present on the occasion to address the students.
Written Science Quiz will be conducted on December 22, 2016 for two groups i.e. Middle School and High School. The topic of the quiz is General Science and Pulses: The Healthy Food resp.
Science Demonstration Lecture on Principals of Flight will be organized on December 23, 2016 at 3:00 pm which will be followed by an Air Show at 4:00 pm by Aeronautical Society of India.
Open House Quiz will be organized on December 24, 2016 at 3:00 pm in which students will be asked questions pertaining to Aviation, Aeronautics and Science. This will be conducted by Wing Commander Samir Gangakhedkar of Aeronautical Society of India.
In poster making contest students of VII to X have submitted the posters on the topic: “International Year of Pulses” & “Aviation for Mankind”. The selected posters are exhibited during the science fair.
Prize Distribution and Valedictory function will be held on December 24, 2016 at 4:30 pm. Former Director LIT, Nagpur Prof. G. S. Natarajan shall be the chief guest of valedictory function.
This Orange City Science Fair will be open for other students and general public to visit from December 22, 2016 to December 24, 2016 from 11:30 noon to 4:30 pm. Project Co-ordinator, Raman Science Centre N. Ramdas Iyer has urged the Students, Teachers to participate and visit in large number.
