Nagpur: In another unfortunate incident, a man known to be a pimp died after falling down from the third floor in Balpande Layout on December 22, 2016. The deceased is identified as Amar Premdas Deshbhratar aged 32 years and a resident of Indira Nagar Colony, Bhagwan Nagar.
The Social Security Branch of Nagpur Crime Branch had a secret tip off that a sex racket is going on in a flat scheme in Balpande Layout. The sex racket was said to be running from Flat No 301, Third Floor, Nirman I, Balpande Layout, Near Narendra Nagar. On December 22, 2016, the Senior Officials of Social Security Branch of Nagpur Crime Branch sent a punter to the flat at around 3 30 pm. After ascertaining that a sex racket was indeed going on in the said flat, the cops of SSB moved into nab the accused. They raided the flat and rescued two women and one customer from the flat. The cops also seized Rs 7000 from the flat. The flat was said to be fully furnished with modern amenities.
However, even as the cops were inching towards the flat, the deceased identified as a pimp saw the cops of SSB and recognized them. In a vain bid to escape from getting apprehended, he attempted to jump from the balcony of the third floor to the house top situated hit behind the building. However, he misjudged the distance between the two buildings and fell down. While falling down, his head hit the compound wall of the Nirman Flat scheme sustaining critical injuries. The cops of the Social Security Branch of Nagpur Crime Branch rushed him to the Government Medical College and Hospital where the attending doctors declared him dead after attempting to save him at around 3:55 pm.
The deceased Amar Premdas Deshbhratar was a pimp known to the cops of Social Security Branch. There have been prior cases under the PITA or Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act registered against him. Sources also claimed that some cases of serious offences too are registered against the deceased. Sources in SSB also said that the deceased Amar had succeeded in escaping from the building where SSB had raided on previous occasions.
When Nagpur Today personnel visited the spot, the neighbours claimed that none of those residing in the six flats were all tenants. The neighbours added that they had smelt something fishy going on in the said flat.
