New Delhi: Congratulations are pouring in from all quarters for Tina Dabi and Athar Aamir ul Shafi Khan — India’s latest ‘it’ couple.

Now, Congress president Rahul Gandhi has joined the masses to tweet his wishes for the IAS power couple who recently tied the knot. Gandhi, in his message for Tina and Athar, called their marriage an inspiration in “this age of growing intolerance and communal hatred”.

Dabi and Khan topped the Union Public Service Commission’s 2015 Indian Administrative Services exam — while Tina topped the notoriously difficult examination, Athar came second.

The country is besotted with the IAS power couple ever since they began dating last year and today, Rahul Gandhi congratulated the two with a post on Twitter. “Congratulations Tina Dabi & Athar Amir-ul-Shafi, IAS toppers, batch of 2015, on your wedding!” Gandhi tweeted.

“May your love grow from strength to strength and may you be an inspiration to all Indians in this age of growing intolerance and communal hatred. God bless you,” Rahul added.

Dabi and Khan’s love story began when they were undergoing training. Their marriage — Dabi a Dalit from New Delhi and Khan a Kashmiri Muslim — has broken stereotypes.

Both are from the Rajasthan cadre and have been under the spotlight since November last year when Tina Dabi and Athar Khan first started dating.

Tina and Athar tied the knot at a traditional Kashmiri-style wedding on Saturday, April 7, in Jammu and Kashmir’s picturesque Pahalgam.
