Ashaniketan to start admitting patients from April 24

Nagpur: A new project of Rachana Hospital and Research Centre MIDC Butibori, ‘Ashaniketan’ Hospice, an exclusive treatment centre for senior citizens with chronic diseases like paralysis, terminal cancer and others who require only nursing care is all set to start begin from April 24 at the premises of Rachana Hospital and Research Centre, Butibori, informed Dr Vithalrao Dandge while addressing the press conference at Press Club, Civil Lines on Monday.

It would be one of its first kind of hospice in the city, Dr Dandge said, adding the distance is not too far.

Through a video presentation, he gave detailed information of the hospice having a beautiful garden, a fountain and the beautiful surrounding area giving a cheerful experience to the patients, he informed.

“In this medical hospice, residential accommodation, 24 hours doctors, supervisor and full nursing services will be available at very normal cost with food facilities as per the disease conditions,” he said, and added, “Patients would be charged Rs 300 per day which includes doctor fees, their accommodation and food.”

This 40-beded senior citizens’ care centre has been built by Dr Vithalrao Dandge, Managing Director of Rachana Hospital having more than 40 years of clinical and teaching experience in medical field at the cost of Rs 1,5 crore.

For this noble cause M/s Calderys Indian Ltd has provided an ambulance and Lupin pharmaceutical Mihan, Nagpur privies cots for this hospice.

Dr Shashank Dandge, Hemant Ambaselkar of Butibori Manufacturers’ Association, Anil Sambre, Ramesh Patne and Namdeorao Saste were also present at the press conference.
