Nagpur News : Many suspicious questions were raised after a 43-year-old man files a complaint about a diamond ring stolen from his father’s dead body. Laxminarayan Katarpawar, a resident of Tailor line in Chaoni claimed that somebody from the medical staff have robbed the diamond ring worth Rs 65,000.

Interestingly, Katarpawar lodge a police complaint nearly a month after his father Krishnarao’s death. Krishnarao, 71, died of cardiac arrest on May 19.

Sadar police informed that Katarpar claimed that he had rushed his father to Metro hospital of Chaoni on May 19 after he suffered a cardiac arrest. However, he was declared brought dead by the doctors.

He told police that he had removed the gold ring wore by Krishnaroa on his left hand but forgot to take diamond ring from right hand. The robbery was known when the body was taken to home.

Katarpawar told police that he was busy with the last rituals and thus was late to file a police complaint. He alleged that the hospital staff might have stolen the ring while shifting the patient.

Police said that the CCTV footages of the hospital show only Katarpawar removing the gold ring. “We have gone through the footages but haven’t found anything suspicious,” said police.

Cops are investigating whether the ring was stolen by the hospital staff or might have fallen while being taking to home.
