Nagpur: On 26.9.2014 a Search and Seizure action under section 152J of Maharashtra Municipal Corporations Act, 1949 was conducted by LBT Department on M/s Khushi Creations, 5-A, Vinkar Bhawan, Gandhibagh, Nagpur; owned by Shri Kamal Sunderlal Wadhwa. The dealer though imported sarees worth Rs. 82,40,834/- did not paid any LBT towards the said purchases. The dealer was given opportunity of personal hearing on two occasions which the dealer failed to attend. After the assessment a Notice of Demand for Rs. 85,914/- was served on the dealer, which was not honoured till date. Subsequently the bank account of the dealer was seized but the same was found to be having nil balance. Hence, the department executed the warrant action under section 42 of Chapter VIII of MMC Act, 1949 and seized the property belonging to Shri Kamal Sunderlal Wadhwa, situated at Shop No. 50, Shridevi Ratan Complex, Agyaramdevi chowk, Nagpur; on 8.5.2015. Department will initiate early further actions of attachment and auction of said property towards recovering the LBT dues outstanding against the dealer.
The warrant action was conducted by LBT Officer, Shri Yadav Jambhulkar; Asstt.LBT Officers, Shri Ulhas Motghare and Vijay Chetnani; Jr.Inspectors, Shri Arun Mehrulia, Shri Sanjay Malik and Assistant Shri Kawale. The action was conducted under the supervision of Shri Milind Meshram, Assistant Commissoner (LBT) under the able guidance of Hon’ble Municipal Commissioner and Addl. Dy. Mpl. Commissioner (1).
