Promising job, tricksters dupe youths of Rs 6.78 lakh

Nagpur News : A group of five persons, including two young women, were booked for luring men to get new job and duping them to the tune of Rs 6.78 lakh under the jurisdiction of Gittikhadan police station. The fraud, Police said, occurred between October 2013 and March 2014.

Cops have identified the accused as Amit Upendra Singh (26), a resident of Borgaon, Gittikhadan; Ayushi Shrivastav (22), a resident of Gittikhadan Square, Katol Road; Chaitali Tapan Mukherjee (29), a native of Odisha; Bhanupratap Singh (26), a resident of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh; and Satpate. The accused, police said, invited the complainant Ashish Yashwant Dongre (34), his brother-in-law and his friends to Amit’s house and offered jobs in various companies. The accused them demanded money for the jobs. The accused recovered Rs 6.78 lakh from the complainant and his friends.

Soon, the complainant realised that they have tricked and later lodged a complaint on Tuesday with Gittikhadan police station against all the five accused. Cops have registered an offence under Sections 420, 468, 471 and 34 of the IPC.
