The minister holds positive discussion with Anna Hazare over the move.
Nagpur: The Excise Minister Chandrasekhar Bawankule on Thursday (July 28, 2016) assured the State Legislature that prohibition committees will soon be constituted at State, District, Taluka and Village levels.
After making the statement, Bawankule met veteran Social activist Anna Hazare and gave an assurance on behalf of the State Government about the constituting of committees at various levels for the prohibition of alcohol and three other topics after a thorough discussion.
During his meeting, the Excise Minister had lengthy discussions with Anna Hazare. Whenever there is an anti-alcohol poll then their symbols should be accompanied by the alcohol-prohibition signs. It was discussed how committees should be constituted at State, District, Taluka and Village levels. In order to bring control over the illegal business in villages, Village Security Force should be established and attempts should also be made to encourage citizens to participate in the drive for prohibition of alcohol.
Anna Hazare has informed State Excise Minister Chandrasekhar Bawankule that some percentage of the Excise Revenue should be spent on creating awareness among the masses.
