A 1994 batch Special IG Anti Naxalite Operation Anup Kumar Singh, Senior police inspector of Crime branch Madhao Giri and four
other cops will be honored with the President Police medal on the Republic day for their distinguished and meritorious performance in the police department.
Singh, a 1994 batch officer, started his career from Ahmed Nagar.
Before promoting to Nagpur,he was posted at Usmanabad, Nanded, Amravati, Thane. He has also bestowed with Special Services Medal and Internal Security Medal.
Madhao Giri, senior PI of Crime Branch, had cracked 1200 crime cases in 2013 and has recovered 2 crore stolen property. He is also known for his excellent investigations in arresting Raja Ghause for firing a round on cops. Besides city, he has helped other cities police department to crack down murder cases.
Dy SP Motiram Pakhare of RPTs, ASI Pramod Kanojia of SRPF and Moreshwar Mahurkar will also be awarded.
